Start of the IP Dialogue series in Berlin in 2026 with the title “Green claims under the new legal situation – making sustainability communication legally compliant.”
During this IP Dialogue, aatorney at law Dr. Julian Wernicke and Dr. Sebastian Engels will explain the future requirements for sustainability labels and which general statements about the environment will no longer be permitted.
Once again this year, the Center for Intellectual Property Law at Heinrich Heine University Dusseldorf is inviting experts in intellectual property law to the 24th Düsseldorfer Patentrechtstage (24th Dusseldorf Patent Law Days).
Under the direction of Prof. Dr. Jan Busche and Prof. Dr. Peter Meier-Beck, former presiding judge at the Federal Court of Justice (VorsRiBGH retd.), judges from various courts and chambers, representatives of the Federal Ministry of Justice and the academic community, as well as attorneys will provide information on current topics and developments in patent law on March 19 and 20.
While the first day of the event will focus on the Unified Patent Court (UPC), perspectives in patent law, and patent protection and artificial intelligence, on the second day the speakers will address the case law of the courts of first instance, the UPC Court of Appeal, and the Federal Court of Justice.
In this context, BOEHMERT & BOEHMERT partner and patent attorney Christian W. Appelt will speak from 9.45 a.m. on the current decision-making practice of the Boards of Appeal of the European Patent Office.

As part of the Berlinale, medianet berlinbrandenburg, together with BOEHMERT & BOEHMERT and NORDEMANN, is once again hosting a morning event for the film and television industry at the Brandenburg State Representation.
This time, the discussion will focus on artificial intelligence and the questions of whether remuneration regulations can create fair standards for AI-supported workflows, how self-regulation and new contract models are developing, and what laws such as the AI Act, the German Civil Code (BGB), and the KUG really mean for the industry.
After a welcome address by Dr. Friederike Haase, State Secretary in the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labor, Energy, and Climate Protection of the State of Brandenburg, and a keynote speech by BOEHMERT & BOEHMERT attorney Dr. Alexander Thamer, a high-caliber panel will discuss the impact of AI on film productions and new regulations.
Dr. Julian Waiblinger from NORDEMANN will moderate the discussion, while Prof. Dr. Jan Bernd Nordemann will conclude with a brief summary of the results.

On 1 November 2025, the international forum “Intellectual Property in Innovative Business Models – Make IP your Asset” will take place in Taipei (Taiwan). Organized by NTU College of Medicine, SPARK and Jesse Lin, Co-founder of Bio-Innovation Taiwan, the event is aimed at professionals from academia and industry who focus on innovative business models and the strategic use of intellectual property. The spotlight will be on start-ups as well as small and medium-sized biotech and life sciences companies.
