    He is a German European Patent Attorney, with his office at Munich, as a partner of BOEHMERT & BOEHMERT.
    He holds a PhD in physics and teaches Intellectual Property Law as Honorary Professor at University of Bremen, Germany, as Lecturer at Bucerius Law School (BLS), Hamburg, and at the Munich Intellectual Property Law Center (MIPLC), Munich, Germany.
    He is furthermore a Visiting Professor as well as a Lecturer at several foreign universities in both Asia and U.S.A.

    Prof. Dr. Heinz Goddar is a Past President of LES International (LESI) and, as a former president, serves on the advisory board of LES Germany. In 2005, he was awarded the LESI Gold Medal and, in 2014, was inducted into the prestigious IAM IP Hall of Fame. For several years, IAM has ranked him among the world’s top 300 IP experts.

    Since 2023, he has served as co-editor, alongside Melanie Müller, of the international reference work “Trade Secrets Throughout the World” (TSTW, ISBN 978-1-731-95271-4). In addition, their joint scholarly contribution, “Creation and sharing of innovations: the role of opening mechanisms provided by patent law”, supported by Jonathan Porath, appears as Chapter 12 (pp. 321–346) in the volume “A Modern Guide to Patents: Challenges of Patenting in the 21st Century”, edited by Nikolaus Thumm and Knut Blind (Edward Elgar Publishing Ltd., 2025, ISBN 978-1-03530-859, DOI: https://doi.org/10.4337/9781035308606).

    Since 2006, Heinz Goddar has been listed as an official mediator and arbitration expert with WIPO.

    From 2023 to 2024, he was a member of the Advisory Board of the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property (SAIP). Since April 2024, he has also served as Honorary International Advisor to LES Korea and, since August 2024, as a member of the Intellectual Property Committee of the CCPIT Mediation Center in Beijing, China.
