    Felix Hermann has extensive experience in the drafting and prosecution of patent applications and utility models. His practice also focuses on accompanying clients through examination procedures, opposition and invalidity proceedings, and the assertion of patents and utility models against third parties.

    In addition, he advises companies in the creation and maintenance of patent portfolios as well as the creation and implementation of German and global patent strategies. His areas of expertise include, in particular, communications technology, audio and video coding software, public key infrastructures, software-related inventions, and digital payment systems. Out of these areas of expertise, Felix Hermann has had a strong focus for more than ten years on drafting and prosecuting patent applications in the field of mobile telephony standardization by the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP), i.e. UMTS, LTE, LTE Advanced, and LTE Advanced Pro.

    Felix Hermann holds a diploma in electrical engineering with a course specialization in communications engineering at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) as well as at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in the USA.

    Prior to joining BOEHMERT & BOEHMERT in 2011, Felix Hermann worked for nine years for a renowned IP law firm in Munich. He has extensive experience in conducting proceedings and hearings at the German Patent and Trade Mark Office (GPTO), the European Patent Office (EPO), and the German Federal Patent Court (BPatG).

    Felix Hermann is an ad personam member of the Standing Advisory Committee before the EPO (SACEPO); he is also a member of the German Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (GRUR), the Institute of Professional Representatives before the European Patent Office (epi), and the Association of Intellectual Property Experts (VPP).
