    Felix Hermann has more than 20 years of experience in drafting and prosecuting patent and utility model applications. His practice focuses on assisting clients through examination, opposition and nullity proceedings, as well as enforcing patents and utility models against third parties.  He also advises companies on the establishment and maintenance of patent portfolios and on the development and implementation of German and global patent strategies.

    His technical expertise includes communication technology, audio and video coding, public key infrastructures, software-related inventions and digital payment systems. Since the beginning of his career as a patent attorney, Felix Hermann has had a strong focus on drafting and prosecuting patent applications, as well as on invalidation and claim mapping in SEP-related technology fields, including mobile telephony standardisation by the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP), WiFi (IEEE 802.11), audio/video codecs, etc.

    Felix Hermann holds a diploma in electrical engineering with a course specialization in communications engineering at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) as well as at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in the USA.

    Prior to joining BOEHMERT & BOEHMERT in 2011, Felix Hermann worked for nine years for a renowned IP law firm in Munich. He has extensive experience in conducting proceedings and hearings at the German Patent and Trade Mark Office (GPTO), the European Patent Office (EPO), and the German Federal Patent Court (BPatG).

    Felix Hermann is an ad personam member of the Standing Advisory Committee before the EPO (SACEPO); he is also a member of the German Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (GRUR), the Institute of Professional Representatives before the European Patent Office (epi), and the Association of Intellectual Property Experts (VPP).
