On 14 November 2016, the Law Faculty of the University of Potsdam will host a lecture with a legal introduction to “Prosecuting Piracy on the Internet” The legal introduction will be provided by Prof Christian Czychowski, Honorary Professor at the University of Potsdam on copyright issues and internet piracy. In the subsequent lecture, Andreas Kasper, Proprietor of CounterFights Anti-Piracy, Jena, will discuss pursuit of product piracy on the internet. The German Cancer Research Centre DKFZ in Heidelberg offers a training event on “Exploitation and Risks of (Open Source) Software” on 11 November 2016. BOEHMERT & BOEHMERT partner Prof. Dr. Christian Czychowski will guide those attending through the subject and explain where attention should be given in the case of self-developed software depending on whether the software is for personal use, for open source provision or intended to be marketed commercially. In the second edition of the study “kanzleimonitor.de 2014/2015, BOEHMERT & BOEHMERT is again included in a list of IP and Industrial Property law firms recommended by lawyers.
