Andreas Dustmann studied law at the University of Heidelberg, Complutense University of Madrid, and University of Cologne. He obtained the degree of Master of Laws (LL.M.) at the University of Edinburgh in 1995. In his doctorate work, Andreas Dustmann was concerned with the liability of internet service providers for online copyright infringement. From 1998 to 1999, he was a research fellow at the Max-Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law in Hamburg. In 2001, Andreas Dustmann joined BOEHMERT & BOEHMERT and became a partner in 2007.

Andreas Dustmann acts on behalf of his clients including domestic and foreign undertakings in a wide range of intellectual property work. He is well known, among other things, for the legal representation of some US film studios in the fight against internet piracy. He has been a legal advisor for the construction of several video-on-demand portals and eCommerce platforms, and provides ongoing counsel to media companies, agencies, and dealers on legal issues of the internet. Another focus of his work is representation in court proceedings. For years he has represented clients in complex legal disputes, especially in the area of unfair competition, copyright, trademark, and design law. He is also increasingly active in patent litigation. As a Patent Attorney Thomas L. Bittner focuses on technical intellectual property rights, especially patents and utility models, both with respect to filing and prosecution, as well as litigation. Also, he advises and represents his clients in opposition proceedings and revocation proceedings before the German authorities and courts, and before the European Patent Office. Thomas L. Bittner advises companies on the establishment and strategic development of intellectual property rights portfolios, including licensing. Thomas L. Bittner studied physics at the Humboldt-Universität of Berlin. After his PhD he worked as a scholarship holder of the Alexander-von-Humboldt Foundation at the Argonne National Laboratory in the US. He started his career in the field of intellectual property at the patent department of IBM Germany in 1995.

Thomas L. Bittner regularly teaches intellectual property law both in Germany and abroad. He was a visiting lecturer at the Hasso-Plattner-Institute of the University of Potsdam for many years. For the German Attorney Academy he is teaching in a course about the protection of software.

Steffen Schmidt studied physics at the University of Frankfurt focusing on solid-state physics. Nils T.F. Schmid specializes in traditional mechanical engineering, his particular interest being in the areas of motor vehicles, tool engineering, process engineering, textile technologies, and medical technology. Daniel Herrmann advises start-ups, SMEs and large corporations, both domestic and foreign, in the field of intellectual property rights, in particular patents and utility models. Daniel Herrmann studied physics at the University of Mainz, the University of Würzburg and the University of Texas at Austin (USA), where he also obtained his Master’s degree. He obtained a PhD in physics in 2011 at the Ludwig-Maximilian-University of Munich. During his dissertation, he worked on the generation of ultrafast laser pulses and used them to resolve photo-induced charge processes in novel organic solar cells via ultrafast pump-probe spectroscopy.

In 2012, he began his training as a German and European patent attorney in a Munich-based internationally operating US law firm. Daniel Herrmann joined BOEHMERT & BOEHMERT in 2015. Martin Erbacher is mainly involved in prosecuting, maintaining, defending, and challenging patents and utility models in numerous fields of chemistry.
