Entrepreneurs will meet from 16-24 November 2018 in Singapore and 7-8 March 2019 in Bremen at “MOIN – Perhaps the coolest start-up festival in the milky way”.

Dr Eckhard Ratjen will give a speech on 2 November 2018 at MOIN Singapore in 1Altitude. The title of his speech will be “Business disruptions for start-ups because of lack of proper strategy”. The journey to Singapore will be made by roughly 30 people – including the Senator for Economy, Work and Port of Bremen, Martin Günthner. Eckhard Ratjen will also make a speech on 20 November 2018 at the German Accelerator Southeast Asia (GASEA) event. The speech will be entitled ‘Increase the value of your start-up with Intellectual property rights’.

The MOIN Start-up Camp in March 2019 in Bremen is a two-day event for entrepreneurs, those interested in starting a company, investors and representatives of established companies. Workshops, speeches and network opportunities – for instance at one or another food truck – will be provided. Together with Dr Martin Erbacher and other BOEHMERT & BOEHMERT lawyers, Dr Eckhard Ratjen will be present at an info-stand – a Legal Clinic – at the event in Bremen.

The prize was awarded on 26 October 2018 at the German Congress for Orthopaedics and Accident Surgery. 

With the award, the DGOU honours research conducted by Lara Kuntz on biomolecular key structures in the Achilles tendon-to-bone connection. She showed that the fibres of the Achilles tendon attaching to the bone fan out in thin fibres which have a different protein structure as well as different geometric arrangement to tendon fibres. These micro-structural changes allow the efficient transmission of pull and pressure tension on to the bone. The results of the study have been published in Nature Materials.
