Xia Pfaffenzeller takes care of patent portfolios in the fields of physics, electrical engineering, semiconductor technology, and software patents. She represents her clients in examination, opposition, and appeal procedures before the European Patent Office (EPO) and the German Patent and Trade Mark Office (GPTO), and conducts patent nullity proceedings and patent infringement proceedings before the German courts.

Xia Pfaffenzeller studied physics and obtained her bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Tsinghua University in Beijing, China. She obtained her doctorate degree from the physics department of Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule (RWTH) Aachen with a thesis on phase transitions.Before starting her training to become a patent attorney at Bardehle Pagenberg Partnerschaft mbB, Xia Pfaffenzeller gathered professional experience as a physics teacher at Beijing Technology Institute, as an account manager at the medical department of Hewlett-Packard in Beijing, and as an IT security consultant at Secaron AG in Munich.Since 2007, Xia Pfaffenzeller has worked for BOEHMERT & BOEHMERT. She was admitted as a German patent attorney in 2006 and as a European patent and trade mark attorney before the European Patent Office and the Office of the European Union for Intellectual Property in 2008. She is a frequent speaker on German and European patent law in Asia.Xia Pfaffenzeller is a member of the Institute of Professional Representatives before the European Patent Office (epi).
