Julian Wernicke provides advice on all aspects of intellectual property law, with a particular focus on trade marks, designs, and competition law. He handles the registration and enforcement of industrial property rights, as well as their defence in official, judicial and extrajudicial proceedings.
A key focus of his work is protecting national and international products against imitation and developing legally compliant trade mark and communication strategies. He specialises in sustainability-related advertising, particularly green claims, and supports companies in formulating transparent and legally compliant ecological advertising claims.

Julian Wernicke studied law at the Free University of Berlin. After completing his first bar exam, he completed his doctoral thesis in one of the key conflicting areas of unfair competition law: Protection against imitation under unfair competition law upon expiry of patent protection.
During this time, he also worked as a research assistant at BOEHMERT & BOEHMERT.
In 2020, Julian Wernicke graduated from the master’s program in intellectual property law at the University of Cape Town. He then completed his legal traineeship at the Berlin Court of Appeal, passing the second state law examination.
In May 2023, Julian Wernicke joined BOEHMERT &BOEHMERT as an attorney at law. He is a member of the German Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (GRUR, Deutsche Vereinigung für gewerblichen Rechtsschutz und Urheberrecht).
