Daniel Niesner graduated with a diploma and a doctoral degree in physics from the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität of Erlangen-Nürnberg. He investigated graphene and semiconductor surfaces in ultra-high vacuum with electron and laser spectroscopy, in particular using nonlinear optics and short-pulse lasers.During a two-year stay at Columbia University, New York City, he extended his research to organic and organic-inorganic semiconductors for photovoltaics. Before joining BOEHMERT & BOEHMERT in 2020, Daniel Niesner led two research projects on these topics and taught at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nuernberg on optical properties of semiconductors.
Daniel Niesner is a member of the German Physical Society.
