The Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) will hold the workshop “Open Innovation and Crowd Sourcing on 4 October 2012, which will focus on impulse and exchange of experience. Target groups are small and medium-sized companies (SMEs) that already have initial experience with these innovation topics or plan to become active here. On 6 September 2012, BOEHMERT & BOEHMERT partner Prof Heinz Goddar will give a speech entitled “Patent file, patent application, patent specification – Where’s the “dictionary” of patent claims” to the German Judicial Academy as part of the conference “Current developments in patent law in Germany and Europe”. The conference is aimed at civil law judges hearing patent cases as well as judges sitting at the Federal Patent Court. According to the German Judicial Academy, the aim of the conference is to allow participants an opportunity for deeper consideration of current legal questions on a national and European level. BOEHMERT & BOEHMERT partner Prof Heinz Goddar will open the “Europe Asia Patent and Patent Information Conference 2012 (EAP2IC)” as keynote speaker on 13 July in Singapore. The event stands under the motto: “IP – the New Currency?”. Prof Goddar will also speak on: “Patents – the New Currency of Modern Trading?”.

This year BOEHMERT & BOEHMERT will once more be organising the intensive workshop, “Obtaining, Enforcing and Evaluating Intellectual Property Rights in Europe”. It will take place between 28th June to 07th July in Munich, divided into two parts – patent law and trademark law.

On 6 June 2012, Thuringia’s Chambers of Trade and Industry held the 9th Expert Day, for further training of all official experts in the State of Thuringia. The event stands under the motto “Experts in the Digital Era” and will cover copyright law, modern media and competition.
