Martin Künzl has been working as a patent engineer in the field of intellectual property at BOEHMERT & BOEHMERT since 2025. He advises on patent-related matters in technology-driven sectors such as biotechnology, medical technology, mechanical engineering, and pharmaceuticals.
His work includes drafting patent applications, supporting patent prosecution proceedings, conducting patent searches, and handling IP-related issues in technology-driven and international environments. In addition, his areas of activity comprise licensing, patent strategies, and serving as an interface between research and IP-related legal advice in product development.

Martin Künzl is a molecular biologist and holds a degree in law from Austria. During his legal training, he focused in particular on medical law and international IP-related matters.
Since 2009, Martin Künzl has been active in technical, scientific, and IP-related fields. His work has covered technical, planning-oriented, legal, and IP-related areas, as well as scientific research and technology-driven industrial environments.
His experience includes work in life sciences, medical technology, analytics, semiconductor technology, environmental technologies, and measurement technology, as well as in industrial development and testing processes within international corporate structures. He has also been involved in project coordination and funding-related activities at the interface between research and industry.
Martin Künzl has contributed to several scientific publications in international journals in the fields of genetics, pharmacology, and cancer research. In addition, he participated in a research program on metabolic diseases funded by the European Commission.
