Makiko Maruyama studied engineering physics at Hokkaido University (Japan) and at Technical University of Munich (Germany), and obtained a PhD in physics in 2013 at Walter Schottky Institute, Technical University of Munich. During her PhD, she carried out experimental research of biosensing techniques for protein analysis with optical and electrochemical methods and participated in various cooperation projects between TU Munich.
