Jan Bohl’s practice focuses on drafting patent and utility model applications, examination proceedings before the German Patent and Trade Mark Office, the European Patent Office and other international patent offices in, for example, the USA or Japan. He also deals with questions of employee invention law and design/design patent applications.
One focus of his work in this field is the representation of medium-sized companies from Germany and other European countries, which are active in all areas of the chemical value chain.

Jan Bohl studied Applied Chemistry and Bio- and Pharmaceutical Analysis at the Fresenius University of Applied Sciences (M.Sc.). During research stays at the University of Edinburgh and the Leibniz Institute in Aachen, he worked on the controlled synthesis of biopolymers and microfluidics. His doctorate in chemistry at the Institute of Physical Chemistry of the University of Paris South dealt with the analysis of proteins and protein folding in the course of neurodegenerative diseases.
Jan Bohl also worked for three years in an international consumer goods company in the area of quality assurance and research and development of hair cosmetics and household care products.
Since July 2020, Jan Bohl has been working for BOEHMERT & BOEHMERT in intellectual property law.
He is co-author of several scientific publications in international journals.
Jan Bohl is a member of the German Chemical Society.
