Amelie Bergs supports clients in patent filing, prosecution, and opposition proceedings before the European Patent Office (EPO) and the German Patent and Trade Mark Office (DPMA). Her work focuses on inventions in the fields of biochemistry, molecular and cell biology, polymer chemistry, and biophysical technologies.

Her technical expertise lies primarily in cellular and molecular neurobiology and biochemistry. During her doctoral research at Goethe University Frankfurt and the Max Planck Institute of Biophysics, she worked on the development of optogenetic methods and the establishment of all-optical electrophysiology in model organisms.
In addition, she has extensive experience in optical systems, microscopy, and imaging technologies, including the design and construction of optical excitation and detection systems. Her technical background also encompasses molecular biology and biochemical methodologies, as well as programming and data analysis for imaging applications.
The results of her scientific research have been published in numerous renowned peer-reviewed journals. As an inventor herself, Amelie Bergs combines scientific expertise with firsthand experience of innovation processes and technology transfer. This enables her to understand the interface between research, innovation, and intellectual property protection from multiple perspectives.
