Alexander Thamer advises clients in all aspects of trademark, competition and copyright law. His activities include the registration and defence of intellectual property rights in official proceedings as well as out-of-court and in-court representation in infringement proceedings. A special focus of his consulting practice is in the area of copyright law. Here, he supports national and international clients in enforcing and defending against infringement claims and in connection with the exploitation of copyrighted works by way of individual and collective rights management and the negotiation and drafting of copyright agreements. In addition, he advises e-commerce and IT service providers, in particular on contractual, consumer protection law issues with a focus on software copyright law and IT contracts.

Alexander Thamer studied law at the Humboldt University in Berlin. During his subsequent work as a research assistant at the Chair of Civil Law, Intellectual Property and Copyright Law, one of his main research areas was the enforcement of rights on the Internet, in particular the provider liability.
Since joining BOEHMERT & BOEHMERT in 2019, Alexander Thamer handles all aspects of intellectual property and unfair competition law.
