Jan Wilmes focuses mainly on industrial property rights in various fields of engineering and physics. His clients include, in particular, German medium-sized companies. Jan Wilmes studied mechanical engineering (Bachelor's degree) and energy technology (Master's degree) at RWTH Aachen with focus on thermodynamic energy technology, combustion engines, power planning and fluid technology. He wrote his Master's thesis at the E.ON Research Centre on enthalpy exchangers and air-conditioning. Within the framework of his studies, he was able to gain in-depth knowledge in the field of renewable energies and power plant technology during a semester spent abroad at the UFSC in Florianópolis, Brazil. He is a member of the German Physics Society (DPG).
As of 2017, Jan Wilmes has made his expertise available to BOEHMERT & BOEHMERT as a patent attorney candidate in German and European patent law.
