Björn Engelhardt is active in patent prosecution proceedings before the German Patent and Trade Mark Office as well as the European Patent Office. He offers advice on the strategic development of portfolios for industrial property rights. Furthermore, he assists clients with the enforcement of their industrial property rights and advises them in opposition proceedings, nullity actions, and litigation proceedings. In addition, he provides advice regarding the employee inventions act.

Björn Engelhardt studied physics at the Ernst Moritz Arndt University in Greifswald. He obtained his PhD at the Fritz Haber Institute of the Max Planck Society in Berlin for research on the effects of atomic disorder on the properties of magnetic alloys and the electronic properties of interfaces. His special interest areas are semi-conductor technology, material science, interface and surface physics, as well as computer-implemented inventions.
Björn Engelhardt joined BOEHMERT & BOEHMERT in 2008. He obtained the admission as a German patent attorney in 2012. In the same year, he became a European patent attorney and representative at the European Union Intellectual Property Office.
He is a member of the German Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (GRUR).
