Presentation: “The significance of trademark licence agreements under anti-trust law” with Prof. Dr. J. B. Nordemann on 25.04.2016.
Prof. Dr. Jan B. Nordemann will give a presentation at the Josef Kohler Research Institute for Intellectual Property Law at the Humboldt-University of Berlin on 25 April 2016. Nordemann will explain “The significance of trademark licence agreements under anti-trust law – the conflicting priorities of licensing law and anti-trust law”. Prior to the Europeanisation of anti-trust law, German cartel law made an exception for licensing agreements. However, some basic rules, which help to avoid a conflict with anti-trust law, now also apply to licensing agreements. Nordemann, who is himself an expert in anti-trust law and a specialist intellectual property protection lawyer, will examine these moving “goalposts” using the example of trademark licence agreements. Venue: Auditorium of the Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm Centre, Geschwister-Scholl-Str. 1/3, 10117 Berlin. The event begins at 6.00 p.m.
