Keynote by Dr S. Jaworski at Berlin InsurMeetup#3 on 13.07.2016.

As part of the Tech Open Air 2016 in Berlin, the InsurTech Meetup #3 (6.30 p.m. – 10.30 p.m.) will take place on 13 July 2016. The event is geared towards start-ups in the insurance technology sector (InsurTech), insurers and insurance brokers. Here, BOEHMERT & BOEHMERT partner Dr. Stanislaus Jaworski will give the keynote speech on “How will the BVK v CHECK24 judgment influence the InsurTech industry?”. He will explain in how far the judgement from Munich Regional Court, expected on the day of the event, in the case between the Federal Association of Germany Insurance Brokers (BVK) and the CHECK24 comparison site for insurance products will impact on the business models of InsurTech start-ups. The core of the issue is whether online insurance brokers are subject to the same obligations as offline insurance brokers.
