BOEHMERT & BOEHMERT has successfully retained its excellent rankings in the current edition of the “JUVE Handbook of German Commercial Law Firms” 2015/2016, even improving them in two areas. BOEHMERT & BOEHMERT is ranked in the second category of the listed firms for “Patent Lawsuits - Patent Attorneys”. In addition, a rating in the category of “Patent Lawsuits – Lawyers” has been added (ranked 5th). JUVE still numbers the law firm “among the leading law firms” in patent law, praising its increasing activity in lawsuits with its mixed teams. According to JUVE, the traditionally strong application business is growing, especially in electronics. Prof. Dr. Heinz Goddar (physics) and Dr. Jan B. Krauß (pharmaceuticals) are again listed this year as leading names among those patent attorneys whose technical focus is recommended. The following patent attorneys were very frequently recommended by the respondents: Prof. Dr. Heinz Goddar, Dr. Jan B. Krauß, Christian W. Appelt, Dr. Thomas Bittner, Dr. Markus Engelhard, Dr. Klaus-Dieter Langfinger, Dr. Stefan Schohe and Dr. Karl-Heinz Metten.
BOEHMERT & BOEHMERT has improved its ranking in the “Trademark and Design Law” category this year to 3rd. JUVE states that the “law firm which is recommended for trademark and competition law has always been and still is one of the busiest law firms in terms of filing applications with the relevant offices”. In addition, JUVE’s editorial staff is “impressed” by the “lawsuit presence of the lawyers who have appeared in numerous Supreme Court proceedings before the European and German courts”. Frequently recommended in this category are: Dr. Volker Schmitz-Fohrmann, Prof. Dr. Jan B. Nordemann, Wilhelm Stahlberg, Dr. Martin Wirtz, Prof. Dr. Christian Czychowski and Prof. Dr. Axel Nordemann.
BOEHMERT & BOEHMERT is also ranked 3rd in “Contract and Copyright Law” this year and is described as a diversified “media practice which is recommended for its speciality discipline of copyright”. The law firm also managed to “explore new consultancy interfaces time and time again” and to “strengthen synergies with the patent attorneys”. Prof. Dr. Jan B. Nordemann, Dr. Martin Schaefer and Prof. Dr. Christian Czychowski are frequently recommended in this category. Prof. Dr. Jan B. Nordemann is still cited as one of the “leading German intellectual property lawyers”.
The “JUVE Handbook of German Commercial Law Firms” is aimed at clients and lawyers. The ratings are based on research carried out by the JUVE editorial staff, evaluations of questionnaires, and interviews with competitors, clients and other relevant industrial sources.
