This year BOEHMERT & BOEHMERT will once more be organising the intensive workshop, “Obtaining, Enforcing and Evaluating Intellectual Property Rights in Europe”. It will take place between 25th June to 04th July in Munich, divided into two parts – patent law and trademark law.
The Centre for Intellectual Property and the Technical University of Berlin will hold a conference on 22 June 2015 entitled “2D was yesterday – the future is 3D”. The focus will be on the legal aspect of 3D printing , which is growing in significance. Experts from industry, legal practice and academia will speak on various aspects in relation to 3D printing. BOEHMERT & BOEHMERT partner and lawyer Dr. Martin Schaefer will speak on “copyright aspects of 3D printing” The conference will take place between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. in room HBS005 of the Technical University of Berlin.
Patent lawyer and BOEHMERT & BOEHMERT partner Dr. Uwe Manasse will give a speech on 22 June 2015 as part of the event “Physicists in Employment” at the University of Bremen and will present the work of the patent lawyer. This year’s speech by Dr Manasse will begin at 3 p.m.
The ALAI International Congress 2015 will take place this year in Germany, in Bonn, to mark the 50th anniversary of the German Copyright Act. From 18 to 20 June, the event will focus on various aspects of the key issue “Remuneration for the Use of Works”. The motto on Friday 19 June 2015 shall be: “Today’s business models and options for the future”. BOEHMERT & BOEHMERT partner and lawyer Dr. Martin Schaefer will speak in the panel “Challenges for Lawmakers and Case Law” on the role of collective exploitation in these business models. In the summer semester 2015, the Centre for Intellectual Property at the Technical University of Berlin will hold the Ring Lecture IP: In Practice. Here, various representatives from legal practice will give lectures on current questions and aspects of intellectual property law. The Ring Lecture series is aimed at students, staff as well as teachers at the Technical University of Berlin and gives an insight into the special legal questions which arise in connection with technology and practice. BOEHMERT & BOEHMERT partner and patent lawyer Dr. Thomas Bittner will give a lecture on the following topic in this lecture series on 17 June 2015: “Protection of Software: Patent vs. Copyright”. The lecture takes place between 6pm and 7.30pm. in lecture hall H 0112 at Technical University Berlin. Registration necessary.
On 16 June 2015, the Action Group against Product and Trademark Piracy (APM) will hold an internal seminar for members on the issues of “Industrial Property Rights”. BOEHMERT & BOEHMERT partner Prof. Dr. Jan Bernd Nordemann will speak here on the question “Blockage of websites due to trademark infringements?”. The event will take place in Haus der Wirtschaft in Berlin.
The first Annual Biosimilars Summit will take place in Berlin from 11 to 12 June 2015. The summit will bring together experts in this field of biotechnology who will speak on strategies, experiences and recent developments on the European market. BOEHMERT & BOEHMERT partner and patent lawyer Dr. Ute Kilger will present the Case Study “Recent SPC legislation and it´s impact on Biosimilar Development” at this conference on 11 June. A biosimilar is a biological medicinal product which is a copy of the original product manufactured by a different company. Biosimilars are officially approved version of the original innovator product and are considered an important international growth market of the future.
