“Störerhaftung (Liability for Interference) – Explained” – Three further lecture dates in the GRUR area groups.

22. February 2010/in Events

Following on from the interest in the November lecture on “Liability for Interference (Störerhaftung) – New Case Law”, BOEHMERT & BOEHMERT partner Prof Jan Bernd Nordemann will give three further lectures at the invitation of the German Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (GRUR): On 22 February 2010 in Cologne, on 4 March 2010 in Leipzig and on 19 May 2010 in Stuttgart. His lectures will concentrate on current case law on internet-based copyright breaches which can often only be addressed through the liability of other connected parties – e.g. internet service providers. These parties can be sued under the principle of “liability for interference” (Störerhaftung).

“Film Exploitation in the Internet” – Seminar by media.net:law for non-lawyers.

15. February 2010/in Events

VOD, IP-TV, Internet-TV – new formats and distribution channels change use of media and raise numerous legal questions surrounding the exploitation of contents. Media.net:law is therefore holding a seminar on the subject of “Film Exploitation in the Internet” on 15 February 2010 at which BOEHMERT & BOEHMERT partners Prof. Dr. Jan Bernd Nordemann and Dr. Martin Schaefer will be speaking. The event is tailored towards non-lawyers from the film industry and will look at three areas. Developments in use of media will be looked at from a consumer perspective. Focus will then move to the possibilities offered by new technical distribution channels and markets from an entrepreneurial perspective. Finally, the event will look at the question of right acquisition and grant of right from a copyright perspective. The seminar will be held from 10a.m. to 1p.m. in the Green Room of the Meistersaal on Potsdamer Platz, Berlin.
